Is my general manager harassing us?
I have worked in a taxi call center for 4 yrs.We recently got a new GM and he is like a warden.He has loud outburst to us and our managers front of everyone.He has degraded managment bysaying they are too slow and his three year old could do their jobs better.One of my co~workers mothere was on her deathbed and he said "What?She's still hanging in there." If we need a personal day or have an emergency he wants to know why.He wants to control what we do and where we go during our breaks.I have a friend in another department (one he doesn't manage) I would go to visit her during my breaks as well as after work and he told me not to go in her office at all (her manager has no issue with me being there).I'm a hard worker I do my job and mind my bussiness but he goes out of his way to ask me invading questions about my personal life.Today I was told my friend who works for a rival cab company can not bring me lunch during my lunch break during my lunch break:nor is he allowed to pick me up or drop me off in front of the building.I have to walk two blocks to meet him.We are not allowed to have drivers from our own cab company to bring us lunch (that we pay for) either!Our break lasts 30 mins which isn't enough time get something and then sit down and eat it.Everyday is a struggle to go to work.I am constatly depressed the enviroment at work is very hostile.He complains and yells at us about everything and when there is nothinng to complain about he finds something to complain about.We have all these new rules but I can't keep up with them because the handbook has yet to be updated.We are under surveillance because he has placed cameras EVERYWHERE except the ladies room.Is there anythimg we can do about this guy?
